About Us

The Palm Beach Pediatric Society founded in 1991 is a non-profit organization of pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners pediatric dentists and pediatric sub-specialists in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties in South Florida.  Our society’s mission is to provide a forum for these professions to be able to come together in three meetings annually to share experiences, network and learn about the best medical practices in pediatric care with the primary interest being the health and advocacy of children.

Our Goals

  • Promote a higher quality of pediatric medical care to children of all ages by providing up to date, cutting-edge continuing medical education for all the professionals that deliver pediatric health care. We accomplish this with meetings that provide a valuable forum for the sharing, discussing, and dissemination of the ideas, concepts, and concerns, of the pediatric health care provider. Our average meeting attendance is approximately 80 -110 pediatric healthcare providers.
  • Provide an on-going, effective bridge between the local health care provider and the regional pediatric residency training program.
  • Provide a means of communication between the child care providers, school health programs/ representatives, non-profit and for profit organizations that provide health services to pediatric patients with local pediatric providers through our meetings and newsletters.

Meetings:

PBPS meetings help facilitate our goals to promote a higher quality of pediatric medical care to children of all ages by providing up to date, cutting-edge continuing medical education for all the professionals that deliver pediatric health care. We accomplish this with meetings that provide a valuable forum for the sharing, discussing, and dissemination of the ideas, concepts, and concerns, of the pediatric health care providers. Our regular meetings typically have between 80 and 100 pediatric health care providers attended. We host 2 to 4 meetings annually.

Meeting Topics:

PBPS meeting topics are selected based from current news, new medical updates, member input, member surveys and recognition of needs selected by our planning committee a group of volunteer members. At least one meeting per year features local sub-specialists from our community presenting medical educational that benefits the primary care pediatrician. If you have a meeting topic or speaker you would like to suggest, please contact our society so we may include it in a member survey of need and discuss it at one of our planning meetings.

Children’s Services Fair

We hope to organize a children’s services fair every three to five years to showcase non-profit and for profit organizations that focus on the healthcare of children to our members as well as school nurses, hospital nurses and child care providers. This ambitious project benefits the organizations that display as well as the children of our community since it provides a forum to interact and learn more about the services available in our community. Our first fair was held in 1998, 2000 and again in 2014.

Funding

We are funded through membership dues, donations, and sponsor-ships of displays at the reception portion of our meetings. We are managed by a group of volunteers, from physicians that participate in our planning committees, to our loyal Mead Johnson Nutrition representatives who have provided administrative and services  to our society for more than 25 years.

Commercial Support through 'Display' Opportunity at Meetings

We offer opportunities for commercial support by soliciting displays at the reception portion of our meetings. The unique and limited opportunity to network with the 80 -100 pediatric healthcare providers that regularly attend our meetings is an excellent tool to support our community while interacting with our society. If interested please become an Industry Professional Affiliate member to be included in communications regarding display opportunities.
